As chief executive officer, Dale Hursh is responsible for worldwide operations of SmartSearch Marketing.
Dale co-founded SmartSearch Marketing in 1999 with his wife Patricia, anticipating the need for search engine marketing by professional experts. Dale’s a high-profile veteran of the technology business — his many accomplishments include founding Sierra Technical Products, which was sold eight years later.
At SmartSearch Marketing, Dale focuses on business development, operations, and serving clients. Dale provides SmartSearch Marketing’s customers valuable experience ranging from software to hardware, from executive leadership to business development. Dale holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in business and engineering.
In addition to search marketing, Dales enjoys skiing, rafting, biking, acting, and playing music. From time to time, you’ll find him at Boulder music halls regaling guests with his mandolin. “I love working with our clients to help them reach their goals, and change their business,” says Dale. “Every day we help them to make a difference to their bottom line.”
Patricia Hursh, Chief Client Officer and Founder
As chief client officer and founder of SmartSearch Marketing, Patricia Hursh is responsible for the overall strategic vision of the agency. She also focuses on client relations, team leadership, and process improvement.
Patricia began working in search marketing in 1997 when she launched her very first pay-per-click advertising campaign on www.goto.com. Today, Patricia is recognized as a search veteran and expert. She specializes in search marketing strategy and search solutions for B2B marketers and firms with complex sales cycles.
Patricia is a contributing author for several online marketing publications, including www.searchengineland.com, and authored the original Fundamentals PPC course for SEMPO. Patricia also serves as a speaker and subject matter expert at seminars, workshops, and industry events worldwide. Patricia holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in business and telecommunications.
In addition to search marketing, Patricia enjoys traveling, sailing, skiing, and rafting with friends and family. “I’m very fortunate to work with such awesome, passionate clients,” says Patricia. “It’s truly an honor to be part of this dynamic industry!”
Kerry Allen, Chief Marketing Officer
As chief marketing officer, Kerry Allen leads worldwide marketing efforts on behalf of SmartSearch Marketing.
With more than 20 years of working in all facets of marketing, including B2B, B2C, brand, digital, social, and public relations, Kerry brings a global focus to the company. Prior to joining SmartSearch Marketing, Kerry led corporate marketing and web marketing programs at global B2B and B2C firms. Kerry holds degrees in broadcast and print journalism, and marketing.
In addition to marketing, Kerry is an avid writer and enjoys traveling, yoga, and hiking. “It’s exciting to stay ahead of the latest trends,” says Kerry. “Our industry continues to shape the world, and we are a part of it.”
